The Mike and Ike: by David E Umbauer and Kurt P Haubrich The 'Mike and Ike' or Minnesota and International was the eighth sub-division of the NP's Lake Superior Division and consisted of 200 miles of main track stretching from a semaphore guarded junction switch by the Northern Pacific tie treating plant at Brainerd MN to a wooden butting block a stones throw from the customs station at the Canadian border in International Falls.
