This was an essential structure for stations, interlocking towers, bunkhouses, and just about any trackside building from the 1920s through the 1950s. Its supply of coal and lamp oil kept NP employees warm and out of the dark on many a bone-chilling winter night. It should appeal to the later era modelers as well and will add detail to a trackside scene as a reminder of the past. The last one seen standing, at St. Regis, Montana, lasted through mid 2001. This HO kit was designed from the NP Standard Plan by member Bruce Barney.
