Yes, the NPRHA will be the only source to purchase this unique Northern Pacific car! The NPRHA is taking reservations for an HO scale model of the NP drop bottom gondolas with 9-board woodchip service extensions. This is car series 118500 to 119224 (various), with the extension added to drop bottom gondolas starting in 1960.

This gondola was developed as a partnership between the NPRHA and Rapido Trains, with the original CAD work developed by the NPRHA in exceptionally exacting detail. Just look very closely at the 3D renderings.

HO model features include the following:

• Exacting rivet and grab iron details on the extensions
• Extensions feature end white safety stripe, and end car numerals
• Gondola designed from in-depth field measurements and NP drawings
• Highly detailed underbody arrangements appropriate for this specific car
• 12 different car numbers

Pricing – While the final pricing has not been set, we expect these cars to sell for roughly $55. Reservation costs will be applied to the customer’s final price of purchase. All NPRHA members receive an 8% discount, which is more than the Rapido early bird discount of 5%.
