HO Scale Northern Pacific Day-Nite Coaches Reservation – Streamline Scheme

The NPRHA is extremely excited to announce the conditional release of Northern Pacific Day-Night Coaches in the Streamline Scheme. This is car series 588 to 599 that served in the North Coast Limited from 1947 to 1953 in this paint scheme. Originally purchased starting in 1946, these coaches were built by Pullman-Standard.

This and future NCL models are being developed as a partnership between the NPRHA and Rapido Trains – premier manufacturer of HO passenger cars.

HO model features include the following:

• Designed from original blueprints and field measurements of existing cars
• Accurate interior and exterior paint and lettering, approved by the NPRHA
• Highly detailed underbody arrangements appropriate for this paint scheme era
• Truck and skirt tooling specific to this paint scheme era
• Fully detailed interior configuration, tinted windows where appropriate
• Multi-color interior decoration
• Full flicker-free track-powered interior lighting
• Accurate free-rolling trucks
• Metal magnetic knuckle couplers

Conditional Release – This car will be produced if the NPRHA and Rapido receive sufficient orders to justify the production investment. And the long-term plan is to produce many other NCL cars if this project is a success. Please do your part and get your reservations in ASAP so this car is merely the start of a long line of high quality NCL cars!

Pricing – While the final pricing has not been set, we expect these cars to sell for roughly $130. Reservation costs will be applied to the customer’s final price of purchase. All NPRHA members receive an 8% discount, which is more than the Rapido early bird discount of 5%. When buying three NCL cars, the NPRHA membership pays for itself using the 8% discount.
