The authors tell the interesting stories starting with the early visitor to the Yellowstone area before it became a National Park and going until the Northern Pacific pulled the rails to the Park. The NP influenced the development of Yellowstone National park in a number of ways. The railroad built a line from Livingston that eventually reach the Park border and attracted visitors to the area. They paid for hotels to be built at various location throughout the Park that brought well-heeled travelers for overnight stays.
