This DVD tracks the NP's premier train, North Coast Limited (NCL), as it travels between Bozeman, Montana, and Chicago, Illinois. Alva Morrison shot the NCL in pristine color Ektachrome in the 1960s when it was apparent that the train's days were numbered. This DVD also includes shots of big steam on Bozeman Pass provided by NPRHA's Jim Fredrickson, along with a side trip on the Yellowstone Park branch from Livingston to Gardiner, Montana. See NCL travel 340 miles along the Yellowstone River through the heart of the Montana's cattle country and into the Badlands of North Dakota. From St. Paul, Minnesota, to Chicago, the NCL goes 300 miles beneath the palisades that border the Mississippi River and ends at Chicago's Union Station. 49 minutes.
