The Northern Pacific needed lumber cars in the 1960s. So in 1961, they added a 50 ft, double sliding door, round roof PRR X31 designed boxcar. The cars were Leased to the NP from A.A. Morrison and originally built by Bethelehem Steel.
This HO-scale model by Bowser captures the look and lettering of the NP prototype. The ready to run model features metal wheels and lettering provided by the NPRHA.
NOTE – The NP prototype car featured black roofs, which Bowser unfortunately failed to include in the production run. But the modeler can easily add a black roof, before the car is weathered.
